Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the use of modern chemical literature to conduct academic and industrial research. Students learn scientific writing in chemistry, how to report, and cite work in the American Chemical Society (ACS) style and format. The use of chemical abstracts, spectral databases, and other scientific databases will be covered in this course. Students will present their findings in a variety of methods such as written reports, oral seminars, and poster presentations. Prerequisite: CHEM 2424.
