Psychiatric Clinical Liaison Rotation

Catalog description

This elective is designed for students interested in psychiatric emergencies and psychosomatic medicine. The rotation will help the student to conduct a psychiatric interview effectively, thoughtfully, and efficiently under emergency room conditions, to assess suicidal and homicidal patients, to recognize neurocognitive disorders, and be familiar with substance use disorder and other psychiatric emergencies. The student will learn about the interface o psychiatric disorders with other medical specialties. Limit 2 student (2 or 4 weeks)
