*Elective* Transcultural Nursing provides a theoretical framework for the delivery of culturally competent nursing care. The course will enable the nurse to navigate through the obstacles that culture can place on the patient/family experience. Through a presentation of the history and theory behind cultural competence in nursing, the course offers key information regarding health beliefs and the impact of culture on both health and illness.
