Catalog description

This course examines sports sociology in a global, issues-oriented approach to study the role of sport in society and the African American culture of sports. It encourages the discussion of current sports-related issues and controversies as well as helps students develop critical thinking skills. It reviews the history of the African Diaspora in Sports and Black College Sports, specifically the history of the SWAC and the role Black College (HBCU) Sports play in Texas.
