Introduction to African Art (3) Fundamentals of African art as related to the philosophies which developed the cultures of the Nile River, the Sahara, the Coastal Forest, and the Savannah. Royal court art, functional art, architecture, decorative adornment, and art as a symbol of rites of passage examined. Three hours of lecture per week.
