Catalog description

Medieval and Renaissance Art (3) Historical examination of the transition of art from the Medieval Period, where it was created communally resulting in cathedrals as places of worship and exchange, to the Renaissance Period, where the artist/patron relationship developed. Role of humanistic ideas in developing subject matter of the artists considered. Three hours of lecture per week.
