Catalog description

This course is a focused examination of the health and welfare of children and adolescents in the U.S. This includes factors that determine their health and mental health trajectories, the systems of care, policies, and strategies for improving the quality and effectiveness of this care. We will examine major issues affecting the welfare of children and adolescents beginning with an overview of the ever changing context of children’s lives while reviewing the history of child health and social welfare programs during the past century.
