Assessment Mental Health Child

Catalog description

This course will focus on assessment and mental health of children and adolescents. The focus will include discussions concerning healthy development, risk factors, disease etiology, epidemiology, phenomenology, nosology, and diagnosis. The class will engage in a critical review of common child and adolescent psychopathology while challenging social and cultural assumptions of what constitutes "normal" versus "pathological" behavior, cognition, and emotion.
