Catalog description
This course is an introduction to photography for the general student and assumes no prior experience in photography. Through the development of critical thinking and technical skills, students will learn how to visualize, create, and evaluate photographic images. Techniques covered will include basics of camera operation, digital photo editing, photographic genres, and introduction to critical and theoretical practices. In addition to studio practices such as technical demonstrations, studio assignments, group critiques, and collaborative assignments we will also engage with photographic theory through readings, presentations, and discussions.
