Catalog description

This course is highly recommended for students seeking upper-division Spanish coursework. This course covers the practice of interpreting in legal and extrajudicial settings between Spanish and English. Students will strengthen their skills in the three modes of interpreting (simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation) and will examine issues related to professionalization, language access, and interpreting in specialized domains such as courts, law enforcement, or immigration settings. Course Fee: LRLF $10.27.
