Prerequisite: PSY 3403 completed with a minimum grade of "C-". This course examines human reason and intuition from a variety of perspectives that cut across traditional areas of psychology (cognitive, social, developmental, biological, abnormal, applied). Major topics include conscious and unconscious cognition, judgment and decision-making, creativity, critical thinking and science, expertise, and moral reasoning. Some applications covered include economics, business, psychotherapy, the legal system, and thriving in the information age. Counts as an upper-division Group A course.
