The course introduces students to the interdisciplinary study of human rights and humanitarianism in global contexts. It addresses the history of human rights and humanitarianism, principles and motivations for humanitarian action, humanitarian organizations and human rights advocacy, humanitarian crises and need for humanitarian interventions.
