Catalog description

The study of urbanization as a general process from multi-disciplinary perspectives - political, economic, geographic, and social. We will analyze urban change dynamics (both growth and stagnation) and study urban regimes with an emphasis on the history and current forms of spatial and social segregation of cities by race, class, ethnicity, culture, and gender. Case studies may be drawn from Texas urban areas, including San Antonio and Austin. (Formerly titled "The Politics of Urban Development.") (Same as GES 3573 .
