Prerequisite: GLA 1013 or POL 1013 . International law, organizations, regimes, hierarchies, and norms such as sovereignty govern the international system. These factors help create a world order that limits armed conflict, regulates the world economy, advances environmental protection, and sets human rights standards among a broad range of actors including nation states, civil society, the private sector and many more. This course explains theories of global governance and compares these perspectives to the analysis of political scientists on the past record and likely future of world order.
