Prerequisite: Completion of PHY 1943 and PHY 1951 with grades of "C-" or higher. This course covers data analysis methods that are useful for physics and astronomy research in the Python programming language. Python data structures and widely used packages such as NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, and AstroPy will be covered. Topics may include numerical linear algebra, principal component analysis, hypothesis testing, Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithms, and basic Machine Learning. Generally offered: Fall.
