Prerequisite: PHY 1963 and completion of, with a grade of "C-" or better, or concurrent enrollment in PHY 2823 , or consent of instructor. Topics include Newtonian mechanics, oscillations, central-force motion, gravitation, Hamiltonian, and Lagrangian dynamics. Some sections of this course include the use of Mathematica software package as a key component to illustrate and reinforce concepts used in Classical Mechanics. Generally offered: Fall, Spring.
