Catalog description
An exploration of genomics and bioinformatics methods to analyze and interpret biological data. Students will have the opportunity to gain a foundational understanding of different types of genomic data and learn to use various bioinformatics tools. Students will develop computational skills essential for bioinformatics and become acquainted with major genomic databases and resources.A basic understanding of molecular biology and genetics is recommended. Familiarity with programming (Python or R) is beneficial, but not mandatory. Formerly titled Introduction to Bioinformatics. (Same as MMI 6643 . Credit cannot be earned for both MMI 6643 and NDRB 5643 .) This course has Differential Tuition. Course Fee: GS01 $90.
