Prerequisite: MUS 2162 or MUS 2322 . Designed to develop the skills and techniques used in writing contemporary songs with an emphasis on lyric writing, melodic construction, chord progression, form, arranging, and basic recording techniques. Students will also learn about the evolution of songwriting in modern society and how songs and society affect and reflect one another. Generally offered: Fall. Course Fees: LRLF $10.27; STLF $18.48.
