Catalog description

Prerequisites: MUS 3013 , MUS 3103 , or MUS 3123 . An exploration of the creative potential of real-time, interactive sound and media environments through a hands-on introduction to Max (formerly Max/MSP). Students will develop foundational programming skills while engaging with a range of artistic practices, including live audio manipulation, algorithmic composition, and audiovisual installation. Students will also create custom instruments, interactive systems, and immersive experiences while considering the aesthetic and conceptual dimensions of working with code. No prior coding experience is required, though a background in music, sound, or digital art is encouraged. Course Fees: IUM1 $90; LRLF $10.27; STLF $18.48.
