A historical and cultural survey of popular music from 1900 to the present focusing on critical listening, significant artists and songs, and social contextualization of these works and styles. Topics include Rock, Pop, Soul, Hip-Hop, Electronic Dance Music, and various genres or subgenres related to each. May be applied toward the Core Curriculum requirement in Creative Arts.
