A survey of the music and culture of specific regions, with topics rotating between Asia, Africa, Native America/First Nations, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Focuses on the soundscapes of the cultures in these regions, as well as their aesthetic foundations, relation to social and cultural contexts, historical development, and cross-cultural interactions and influences.
