Catalog description

Prerequisite: MUS 2162 or the equivalent. Review of tonal analysis for incoming transfer students. Designed to satisfy deficiencies indicated by the music theory proficiency exam. Offers an overview of harmony and form, with an emphasis on binary form, ternary form, rondo form, sonata-allegro form, and contrapuntal techniques. (Formerly MUS 2173 and MUS 3113. Credit cannot be earned for more than one of the following: MUS 2172 , MUS 2173, or MUS 3113.). Course Fees: LRLF $10.27; STLF $12.32.
