Prerequisite: MAT 2313 . Partially ordered sets, maximum/maximal and minimum/minimal elements. Well-ordered sets. Maximality principles (Zorn's lemma, Well-ordering principle, Hausdorff maximality lemma). Boolean algebras and the Stone representation theorem. Generalizations of the Stone representation theorem. (Same as MAT 5423 . Credit cannot be earned for both MAT 5423 and MAT 3003 .) This course has Differential Tuition. Course Fees: DL01 $75.
