The overall goal of this course is to increase the health professional’s ability to analyze problems and make decisions based on applications of epidemiologic concepts and methods in a variety of settings, with a particular focus on applications from studies in health promotion. Social, psychological, and biological determinants of disease will be examined. Epidemiologic tools to be presented include use of vital statistics and rates, descriptive studies, observational studies, and experimental studies. (Formerly KAH 5083.
