An examination of how women have been affected by economic, social, cultural, and political structures, with emphasis on the role of class, race, ethnicity, region, and age. Topics may include Native American societies, colonial life, the impact of the American Revolution, the early national period, slavery, the Civil War, westward expansion, and the "cult of domesticity."
