Investigates the links between political power and geographic space, and the effects of geography (both human and physical) on international politics and international relations. Covers the ideas of Ratzel, Mahan, Mackinder, Spykman, Huntington, and others, in the German, French and Russian schools. Examines the role of geopolitics in current global political standoffs and conflicts. Same as GLA 5603 and POL 5603 . Credit can only be earned for one course: GRG 5603 , GLA 5603 , or POL 5603 .
