Catalog description

Prerequisite: CHE 1113 and CHE 2603 with a grade of "C-" or better. An examination of the chemical and mineralogical properties of soils, including inorganic soil colloid behavior, acidic/basic soils, solid/solution phase interactions, redox behavior, nutrient cycles (e.g., carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus), and the formation and role of organic matter. Topics will be applied to agriculture, gardening, engineering, and remediation management methodologies to evaluate strategies to promote soil and water quality. This course has Differential Tuition.
