This course investigates the societal issues that emerge as technologies become more complex and interconnected. Drawing on Humanistic Engineering and Systems Engineering, students examine how design choices influence communities, systems, and long-term outcomes. Students will explore professional case studies of humanistic engineering and collaborate with undergraduate teams working on community-focused engineering projects. Through these experiences, they learn to connect technical work with human and societal considerations and to integrate these perspectives into their own teaching, professional portfolios, and future courses. This course has Differential Tuition.
