Catalog description

Prerequisite: EGR 4803 or EGR 4812 ; upper-division standing and instructor approval required; students must have completed the prerequisite courses for Senior Design II in their respective program of study. This course continues the development, testing, and presentation of instructor-approved design projects. Emphasizing complex system design and advanced Automated Test Equipment (ATE), students will engage in project management, detailed design packaging, and status reporting. The course includes formal oral and written technical reports, design reviews, and test plan development and execution. Projects will consider manufacturing, calibrating/characterizing, validation, analytical and numerical analysis, safety, reliability, environmental, and economic constraints, as well as ethical and social impacts. Industrial cooperation or faculty sponsorship is encouraged, with a focus on computer-aided synthesis, analysis, modeling, and optimization methods. This course has Differential Tuition. Course Fee: DL01 $75.
