Catalog description

Prerequisite: Completion of MAT 1223 or EGR 1333 (or MAT 1224 or EGR 1324 in previous catalogs), or equivalent. Linear algebra and its engineering applications. Topics include matrix algebra: addition/subtraction, scalar and matrix multiplication, special operations, and special matrices; solution to systems of linear equations: elimination methods, Cramer's rule, inverse matrix method, and factorization; properties of matrices: rank, determinant, inverse, eigenvalues, and eigenvectors; introduction to complex numbers. Generally offered: Fall, Spring, Summer. Course Fee: LRE1 $25; STSE $20.
