Prerequisite: Consent of the instructor. The purpose of this course is to provide educational practitioners and related personnel with the conceptual and theoretical foundation for understanding the nature and impact of systemic barriers and exposure to childhood risks in literacy, physical, and mental health development of vulnerable, at-risk families and their young children within a developmental framework.
