Prerequisite: EDP 6103 and EDP 6203 , or consent of instructor. This course offers an overview of the theories and use of hierarchical linear models. Students will learn the techniques of hierarchical linear models and apply the methods to multilevel data in education, psychology, and social sciences. Topics covered include multilevel analyses, random intercept and slope models, 2- and 3-level models, hypothesis testing, model assessment, longitudinal (repeated measures) data, and generalized hierarchical models for categorical variables.
