Prerequisite: Graduate standing or permission of the instructor. Explores the study of human motivation from a variety of perspectives, including educational, psychological, and sociocultural. The goal of the course is to help students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds (e.g., counseling, education, health, leadership, psychology, sociology, sports) to develop foundational understandings of human motivational processes applied to diverse contexts and populations. The course also gives students opportunities to apply these theories to the issues students face in their current and anticipated work environments.
