Prerequisite: BAN 1023 or STA 1053 , or their equivalents, with a grade of "C-" or better. This course covers both the theory and application of data analytics methods for addressing real-world questions in economics and business. In addition to reinforcing core concepts in probability, distributions, data sampling, estimation, and hypothesis testing, the course provides hands-on experience with statistical software to clean, analyze, and interpret non-experimental data drawn from administrative, financial, and business sources. This includes techniques in data visualization, statistical modeling, and exploratory analysis. This course is intended to serve as preparation for econometrics and causal inference, and to survey tools needed for data-driven research and decision-making in applied settings.
