This course will familiarize students with the history of pretrial diversion, traditional, and specialty or problem solving courts. Focus will be on the roles of the court "families" in these courts, and the course will provide an overview of their structure, decision-making processes, pretrial proceedings sentencing practices, as well as similarities and differences.
