Prerequisite: COU 5103 and COU 5213 . The emotional and behavioral experiences of childhood and adolescence are discussed within the context of the school and family. Counseling strategies are presented for fostering wellness; teaching parenting skills; responding to crises, disasters and other trauma-causing events; helping students both identify strengths and cope with environmental and developmental problems.
