Prerequisite: WRC 1013 and WRC 1023 . This course is an in-depth discussion of contemporary issues in game studies. Students will examine recent research and theoretical frameworks to understand the significance of games in communication and culture. Specifically, they will explore the impacts and implications of games on audiences, industry, relationships, community, identity, and well-being. They will localize content for specific contexts and cultures. Students will apply this knowledge to design for gaming and gamified environments. Course Fees: LRLF $10.27; STLF $18.48.
