Catalog description

Prerequisite: A grade of "C-" or better in CHE 1113 , CHE 2214 , MAT 1223 ( MAT 1224 in previous catalogs), and PHY 1963 . The laws of thermodynamics, free energy and chemical potential, ideal and non-ideal gases, phase transitions, equilibria, solutions, and kinetic theory of gases. Mathematical methods and concepts related to the study of thermodynamics. (Formerly titled "Physical Chemistry I and Laboratory.") Generally offered: Fall. This course has Differential Tuition. Course Fee: IUC1 $15; L001 $30; DL01 $100.
