Prerequisite: BBL 7133 or consent of instructor. Topics in linguistic theory and their relationships to language behavior in multilingual contexts. Topics may include phonological theory, syntactic models, discourse analysis, pragmatics, language socialization, language contact, language maintenance and shift, sociolinguistics and literacy, and language variation.
