Catalog description

Prerequisite: ARTE 2313 , ARTE 4013 , ARTE 4114 , and CI 4283 . This is a Topics course in Art Theory and Practice. This course serves as an individualized study exploring current trends in field-based arts education, research, and practice. Students research a specific topic and present a written and oral analysis of their findings. Research topics may include: Research in Approaches to Art Education; Classroom to Community: Project-Based Learning Experiences; Knowing Your Community; Arts Integration Across the Curriculum; Art as a Language; Pedagogy in Art Criticism, History, and Aesthetics. This course requires a minimum of 15 hours of direct observation research. Course Fee: DL01 $75; SAF2 $150; LRF1 $10.27; STLF $18.48.
