This course is centered on the interactions between humans and nonhuman species. Topics may include plant and animal histories, agencies, and behaviors; the role of plants and animals in biotechnology, research, and agricultural practices; domesticated and companion species; animal rights and human values; and cross-cultural classification and the social construction of plants and animals.
