This course explores Black Social Movements through a transnational lens to examine different moments and ways African Americans and other people of African descent have collectively organized and moved toward pursuing social justice and human freedom. Interwoven histories of race, identity, culture, anti-Blackness, revolution, decolonization, and intersectionality, among others, will be examined in the shaping and making of Black communities in social action.
