Catalog description

Content is designed to provide students with a review of the anatomy of the central nervous system (brain and spine) and its MR tissue characteristics. The student will review various imaging techniques and the design of specialized receiver coils. Magnetic resonance angiography of brain vasculature will be introduced. Spectroscopy and Functional Imaging of the nervous system will be introduced. Field strength specific optimization of neuro protocols will be covered. Common pathology seen on MR images of the central nervous system will be presented. Prerequisite: Admission to the MRI program
