A study of the histories that has influenced concert dance. Though we will often be looking at Western concert dance, the course will be taught from a de-colonial global lens and will also examine non-Western dance forms and their histories at the discretion of the instructor. Students will read a diverse range of dance scholarship which will be augmented by lectures and other assignments.
