Catalog description
This 2wk for-credit longitudinal elective course is an intensive preparation ("boot camp") for fourth-year medical students who plan to pursue a categorical Pediatrics Residency. Students who are pursuing a residency in Med-Peds or Child Neurology will also benefit from this course. The course will prepare students to function at the expected level of a Pediatrics Intern upon graduation from medical school. Students will be provided with general and specialty-specific, clinically relevant, and practical content in a variety of modalities, to improve clinical skills, communication skills, and engage in reflective practice. Course content will focus on the 13 core Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) as defined by the AAMC and will align with the defined Pediatrics-specific EPAs to prepare students for their future careers. Prerequisites include core pediatrics clerkships.
