Catalog description

This course introduces third-year dental students to the advanced principles of orthodontic diagnosis, treatment stages, and interdisciplinary patient care. Through a combination of didactic lectures and case-based analysis sessions, students will build on foundational orthodontic knowledge and apply critical thinking to real-world clinical scenarios. The case analysis sessions focus on promoting active learning through discussion of patient cases that integrate diagnosis, referral needs, and problem-solving in collaborative settings. Successful completion of all DS II courses is required to enroll in this course. Successful completion of DS2 courses is required.
