This graduate-level course prepares nurses to lead evidence-informed health promotion, protection, and disease prevention efforts across populations. Students analyze theories and research from nursing and related disciplines to assess individual, family, and community health needs. Emphasis is placed on interpreting epidemiological and population health data, identifying risk factors, and designing culturally responsive, person-centered strategies that promote wellness and reduce health disparities. Students explore the impact of non-medical drivers of health and system-level influences on care outcomes, and cultivate skills in advocacy, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration to reduce barriers and improve population health.
