Catalog description

This course will provide the learner with and overview of American Public health policy, and the changes in policy as a result of international and national initiatives. Included in the course is the evolution of oral health public policy in the United States. Many resources will be explored to gain understanding of the process of policy development. The student will locate current event articles that discuss topics in the reading. Capstone projects vary from researching and submitting a public policy paper or white paper on a topic pertinent to the coursework. Acceptance into the Master of Science in Dental Hygiene Program is required before taking this course.
