Catalog description

This course covers the methods for teaching computer science in the K-12 grades. Emphasis is placed on the equity principle (computer science for all) and conceptual understanding on topics fundamental to computer science such as writing functional computer code and simplified pseudocode, human-computer interface (HCI), algorithmic thinking, basic logic, data analysis and statistics/probability. Students will design, implement, assess and critique computer science instruction, with an emphasis on effectively engaging linguistically diverse students. Keywords: Computer Science Methods.
