Catalog description

Critical Analysis of Hispanic Literature and Culture (3-0) Broad critical analysis of Hispanic literature and culture that covers a wide range of genres, time periods, themes, and authors, including poetry, short stories, essays, novels, films, and art. The primary goal of this course is to help students understand the nature of literature and culture within the context of the Spanish-speaking world. Required of all Spanish majors, to be taken preferably before other upper-division literature courses. Prerequisite: SPAN 2302 or SPAN 2304 or department placement exam.
